Five Crusaders’ players selected for the 2008 OFL All Star Team, Sirgeo Jefferson receives MVP award The Oregon Football League selects only three players league wide to receive most valuable player awards. An MVP is selected for special teams, offense and league. Given the large number of players competing for these awards in the nine-team league, being selected as one of the three most valuable players is a major achievement. The Crusaders staff and players are extremely honored and proud that team member Sirgeo Jefferson #8, a 2008 rookie, was selected as the OFL special teams most valuable player for 2008. Sirgeo was also named to the first team of the OFL 2008 All Stars as the kick returner. Also named to the 2008 All Star first team is seven-year Crusaders’ veteran Jantz Kahl, #99 as a defensive lineman. Crusaders receiving second team All Star positions were Chad Evans #6, wide receiver, and #61 Mike Pett, offensive line/guard. Rocky Nelson #33 was given honorable mention in the strong safety position. Big congratulations to these five players chosen to represent the Crusaders in the 2008 OFL All Star Game! The 2008 OFL All Star Game will be played at South Umpqua High School on Saturday July 12th at 3:PM. _____________________________
Quotes to ponder from the book “The Power of Teamwork” by Scott Beare & Michael McMillan. “Team values must align with its purpose, mission and actions…” “Teamwork isn’t part-time activity…each member represents the team at all times.” “Each member has a role in the team’s success.” Last and most important, “A CAN-DO ATTITUDE MAKES THE IMPOSSIBLE, POSSIBLE.”
